Because Your Jewellery Deserves to Shine – Our Jewellery Care Guide
Observing a few precautions for use and care will help you keep your jewelry in perfect condition for a long time.
The precious stones and metals that make up your jewelry are delicate materials. Choose your jewelry according to your activities.
It is best to avoid wearing your jewelry in the following situations:
-
- When washing your hands, to prevent soap deposits from getting into the crevices and dulling your jewelry.
- When engaging in activities that require the use of corrosive products (gardening, cleaning, dishwashing…), to prevent damage to the stones that adorn your jewelry.
- When practicing sports activities to avoid shocks and scratches.
We also recommend avoiding:
-
- Exposing your jewelry to intense heat: sudden temperature changes can irreversibly damage precious stones.
- Applying perfume or makeup while wearing your jewelry: the chemical ingredients in cosmetic products can be harmful to certain materials.
For all silver jewelry
Silver jewelry naturally oxidizes when exposed to air and humidity.
Occasional cleaning with a special cloth helps maintain its shine and remove oxidation.
To minimize oxidation, store your silver jewelry in a sealed pouch away from air exposure.
For gold- or silver-plated jewelry
It is not recommended to wear jewelry while sleeping, bathing, or playing sports. Also, avoid contact with perfumes and cosmetics.
The patina tends to fade over time. The speed at which it fades depends on how the jewelry is maintained. A fading patina is a completely normal result of natural wear.
For all jewelry
Store your jewelry individually.
For jewelry with stones
Make sure to protect your stones from shocks and scratches.
